Why AP Physics 1 Feels So Hard—And How to Tackle It

Think about it—by the time you take AP Physics 1, you’ve been studying English and math for over 10 years. But for most students, physics is brand new. You’ve had less than 10 days of real exposure to the subject. That’s why it feels so challenging—not because it’s impossible, but because it’s unfamiliar.

Here’s the good news: AP Physics 1 is not as intimidating as it seems. At its core, it’s Algebra 1 with a touch of geometry applied to real-world problems. If you can stay grounded in the math you already know, physics becomes far less overwhelming.

The biggest mistake students make is overcomplicating it. Keep it simple. Break problems down step by step, and don’t let the newness trick you into thinking it’s harder than it is.

And remember, you don’t have to figure it out alone. If you’d like guidance and practice strategies that make AP Physics 1 more manageable, I’m here to help. Reach out at Kevin@DoyleTutor.com and let’s build your confidence together.
