The AP Physics 1 exam is less than two weeks away (May 16), which means now is the time to shift into review mode and focus on preparation that will pay off on test day.

Start With the Equation Sheet — Know It Cold Every one of my students is required to review the Equation and Reference Sheet exactly as it will appear on the exam. This sheet can be a powerful tool—but only if you know how to use it. Don’t waste time trying to decode it during the test. Practice with it now so that, come exam day, you know where to look and what each equation means.

Practice with Your Test-Day Tools Use the calculator and device (if applicable) you’ll have during the actual exam. The format and functions should feel familiar, not foreign. The test is not the time to learn your tools—get comfortable with them now.

Don’t Memorize—Master the Process Practice problems regularly, but focus on solving—not memorizing. Show all your work clearly, and save plugging in numbers until the very end. This reinforces good habits and earns you more points.

Use the Language of Physics When writing explanations, refer to the relevant formulas and stick to the vocabulary you see in them. This shows the reader you understand the physical principles—not just the final answer.

Need Help with AP Physics? Physics can be challenging—but you don’t have to tackle it alone. If you're looking to build your confidence and sharpen your skills before the exam, I’m here to help.
